The backstory
Brent Cassity hosts Nightmare Success, an interview show with people who served time in federal prison and rebuilt their lives afterwards. Exonerees, former white-collar offenders, recovery advocates, criminal-justice reformers. 234 episodes of it. None of it was findable through search: the show existed as an RSS feed and a YouTube channel and nothing else.
What we built
We built nightmaresuccess.com with a dedicated page for all 234 episodes. Each page carries an original narrative article, a full transcript, guest cross-references, topic tagging, and structured data that tells a search engine exactly what is on the page. We stripped the boilerplate, anchored every article in real quotes from the episode, and built guest hubs and topic guides so the catalog gives the site genuine topical authority on prison reform, reentry and second chances.
The results
- Search queries went from 124 to 443 over the 90-day window, a 3.6× increase.
- Average Google position moved from 11.7 to 7.2, putting the site on the first page for a large share of the queries it surfaces for.
- 90.3% of clicks came from non-branded queries, meaning the overwhelming majority of search arrivals were not looking for this show by name.
One honest note on that last figure: the non-branded bucket still contains some host-name searches, so treat it as a strong indicator of new-audience reach rather than a precise count of strangers.
